A long break, but I'm back

Its been almost 6 months since I wrote an entry on this blog...yeah, there have definitely been things to write about. I never made it a priority. I think it's time I get back to it.

About 3 months ago, I became the proud momma to a 5 month old Tibetan Terrier I named Wrigley. Yeah, for the Field...not the gum. Many of you have probably seen pictures of my little Wriglebutt, but if you haven't...see below. (1st when he was puppy...the one that I fell in love with when looking for a puppy; 2nd is after I brought him home; more current pics to follow once I replace the power cord for my home computer that guess who chewed through!)

I love him so very much...but it definitely has been a struggle for me. As I have been told over and over since getting him, it's like having a child. I now get up at 6 am (and everyone knows how much of a night owl I am). I have become way too comfortable with pee and poop. Things have been destroyed, people have been annoyed, and tears have been cried. But he is my baby, the thing I come home to every night. He has tried my patience, my emotional well-being and my home's state of repair. But he's my little Wriglebutt! I will keep trying to be a better parent to him as I hope he will continue to be a better puppy for me. We will go forward together as my little family. :-)

Last night was my first night without the little one. I have been putting in 13 hour days for the past month and we have not had an easy time at home. I have not cared for him as I should (basic needs only) and he found many, many opportunities to try to get my attention through negative means. I think we both needed a bit of a break. He went and had a sleep over with a neighbor and her pup, Whiskey. He was not as well behaved as I would have liked, but everyone made it through alive. And I got a glorious 8 hours of sleep. He has been a little sleeping angel today. We are falling in love again...
